At Begumpet, it's a tough walk under Metro works
Hyderabad: Those walking under the construction of the Begumpet metro station — near the Lifestyle building — are risking serious injury due to the absence of barricades.
The road is the only stretch from where they can go over to the Begumpet station for the MMTS and if they want to walk towards Ameerpet.
Anuradha K. Raju, a college student says: “We have no other option. The sides are full of debris and there is also a storm drain running here.”
In fact, many say barricades are erected only when welding works are being carried out. An engineer at the site dismissed the concerns saying there were safety nets between the construction and the road below.
But, T. David, a resident said: “Walking here is very difficult. There is no proper co-ordination between departments and we are being forced to use tiny, dangerous spaces.”
