Hyderabad: EVM glitches at Kodad and Thungathurthy constituencies have resulted in the counting of VVPAT slips. Kodad was represented by Uttam Padmavati and the counting was going all through with a meagre difference of 1,000 votes with TRS candidate Bollam Mallaiah Yadav in the lead.

EVMs of three villages, Khanapur, Siripuram and Raghavpuram which had 2,300 votes in total were not functioning properly.

The district collector decided to count VVPAT slips in these constituency. For a short duration Congress leader Padmavati asked for recounting of all the VVPAT slips.

After the counting, Padmavati lost by 542 votes. This is a significant result as TDP candidate Bollam Mallaiah Yadav became rebel and was invited to join the TRS and given the Kodad seat.

Meanwhile, about 19 EVMS of Thungathurthy constituency were not functioning properly which had about 1,1600 votes. So the counting was carried out using VVPAT generated slips. TRS leader Gadari Kishore Kumar won over Congress leader Addanki Aayakar by around 1,700 votes.
