Hyderabad: There were ‘jashn’ (celebrations) at the MIM headquarters in Darussalam, after the party retained its seven seats from the last time. Party workers and sympathisers had started to gather at the party office from 9 am and followed the trends through the day. They also kept an eye out on the BJP seats. Party workers were not only interested iin the results of the eight MIM constituencies — the party lost in Rajendranagar — but they were keen to know about BJP Goshamahal candidate T. Raja Singh.
There was also keen interest in Nampally, Karwan and Malakpet which had composite voters. There was much anxiety when the BJP pulled ahead for some time in some constituencies, especially Nampally. In the end, all the seats fell into the MIM kitty. Party workers were raising slogans and bursting crackers on official declaration of victory of each candidate. The winners later reached the party headquarters in a rally and met Asaduddin Owaisi. While their followers distributed sweets, a group of elderly persons performed dua.
