Technology can curb nuisance: Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa

According to the home minister, CCTV cameras and drones are being used to contain thefts and chain snatching events in the state.

Nellore: AP Home Minister Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa said that they are using technology extensively to maintain law and order in the state. Speaking to media at the Superintendent of Police’s office in Ongole on Monday, he said that they have initiated action against anti-social elements and those involved in land grabbing and betting. According to the home minister, CCTV cameras and drones are being used to contain thefts and chain snatching events in the state. Reminding that they have banned cock fights in the state, he made it clear that they would book cases against those violating the ban.

Expressing satisfaction over drop in the thefts and chain snatching cases in the state compared to last year, he said they have been taking steps to contain the accident rate in AP. Pointing to 72 per cent recovery of property in theft cases at Prakasam district, he had a word of praise for the police officers of the district for their performance. He told them to take measures to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the district. District SP B. Sathya Yesu Babu, Additional SP Udayarani, DSP’s and CI’s were present with the minister.
