PJ Telangana State Agricultural University convocation on December 13
Hyderabad: Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) plans to increase 126 seats and add two new colleges by the end of the next academic year, said University Vice-Chancellor Dr Praveen Rao on Monday. The varsity is set to conduct its first convocation on December 13. As many as 207 post graduate and Ph.D students are set to receive their degrees for the academic year 2014-15 and 2015-16. Around 970 students from UG courses had applied for the convocation, out of which only 558 students will receive their degrees. About 17 students will also be awarded Gold medals for meritorious achievement in academics.
Chancellor and Governor of Telangana and AP, E.S.L. Narasimhan will grace the occasion and Director General, Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR), Dr Trilochan Mohapatra will deliver the Convocation address as chief guest. Vice-Chancellor Dr Praveen Rao said, “We are giving priority to infrastructure and from the next academic year, admissions for PG, Ph.D will be based on the National level examination conducted by ICAR.”
