Special Trains for Diwali; 26 Lakh Extra Berths

Hyderabad: South Central Railway said it would be operating special trains in addition to the services to cater to the rush of passengers during the Diwali and Chhath Puja seasons, to destinations within the zone and elsewhere. SCR said that it would be offering approximately 26 lakh extra berths in the festival specials.

SCR said in a statement that special attention was being paid towards completing the maintenance work and starting trains on time and regular coordination between departments across divisions to stick to schedule.

The special trains would connect destinations within the state as well as in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. These special trains would stop at major stations.

SCR general manager Arun Kumar Jain, "all heads of departments are continuously monitoring the situation regarding extra rush of passengers and taking timely action for ensuring punctual running of trains."
