Several flights were delayed at the Kempe Gowda International Airport on Monday due to poor visibility caused by fog. The arrival and departure of 56 flights was delayed while 11 flights were diverted. Over 100 flights had been delayed on Sunday morning too due to the fog.
The four aircraft which were diverted to Hyderabad were later flown back to Bengaluru after the weather cleared.
KIA sources said that on Monday morning, fog had descended on the runway causing poor visibility conditions. Twenty-two flights that were ready to take off were delayed, while 16 arrival flights were affected. Seven flights were delayed due to holding point congestion.
