Mahakutami will bag 80 seats: Rajiv Shukla

The chief minister created jobs for his family members and neglected the unemployed youth of Telangana, says Rajiv Shukla.

Hyderabad: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Rajiv Shukla expressed his confidence over the victory of the Mahakutami in the forthcoming elections in Telangana state.

“The Mahakutami will bag at least 80 seats according to surveys, as caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has damaged the state,” Mr Shukla said.

Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Mr Shukla said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and KCR have cheated the people with their fake promises. They have a mutual understanding now. The chief minister created jobs for his family members and neglected the unemployed youth of Telangana. He has shut more than 4,000 government schools and is benefiting corporate schools and colleges.”

He added, “The people of Telangana have come to know that Mr Rao will never fulfill any of his promises. Everyone knows that the Congress-led Mahakutami will win the elections, therefore the demand for Congress tickets is high.”

He said the delay in releasing the candidates’ list was also a strategy of the Congress leadership. Apparently referring to the unrest at Gandhi Bhavan by party activists, he added, “Protests are common in any political party when the list of candidates is announced.”

He said that the Mahakutami would form government soon after the announcement of the election results.
