Brrr! Hyderabad awakes to coldest day
Hyderabad: The month started on a cold note with 15.6°C on November 2 and dipped further to 15.4°C on Saturday— the lowest in the month so far. Adilabad district reported 10°C– making it the coolest district in the state. The local weather bureau said that a ‘dry weather is likely to prevail over Telangana with minimum temperature likely to be below the normal by 2°C to 3°C at a few places in the state.’
Clear skies and dry and cold winds from the north-east direction cause a drop in the night temperature, said meteorological officials. “There is no official onset of the winter season. Mid-December to February is usually considered as the winter season in Hyderabad. However, temperatures have seen a drop from November onwards due to the north-eastern winds, as a result of the north-east monsoons.” The city will witness clear skies with mercury level around 30 in the morning and 16 degree in the night for the next weeks.
