AP to decide on language subjects in CBSE syllabus: Botsa

Visakhapatnam: Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana said the state government will soon take a decision on including language subjects in the CBSE syllabus.

The minister spoke while participating in a meeting of principals of Jawahar Navodaya, Kendriya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Residential schools at the Samagra Siskha office on Wednesday. Principal secretary (School Education) Praveen Prakash and school education commissioner S. Suresh Kumar were present.

Satyanarayana said he would discuss with higher officials how many subjects are to be added under CBSE syllabus.

The minister declared that the government has brought in revolutionary changes in school education to shape students in facing the challenges of 21st century.

“For the purpose, we had decided to phase-wise implement CBSE syllabus in schools from the 202–2022 academic year,” he pointed out.

Satyanarayana asked participating principals about their staff strength, eligibility of teachers, laboratories, libraries, maintenance of school records, administration of the schools, academic activities, examination models, issuance of certificates, audit of schools, coordination with state schools, financial management, role of principals and other issues.
