Hyderabad: 3 dead after car hits stone
Hyderabad: An IT employee and his two friends heading to Anantapur for their friend’s wedding were killed when their MUV rammed into a large stone beside the highway at Shadnagar on Friday. Five others suffered injuries and are admitted to a private hospital.
The victims were identified as Venkatesh, 23, IT employee Bhaskar, 24, and K. Abhilash, 24, natives of Vishakhapatnam, Those who survived were Noresh, Likith, Sriram, Utkur Sai, and Lokesh. They were going to Anantapur to attend the marriage of a friend’s sister in the MUV (TS 08 GQ 4884).
All of them were graduates from Gitam College in Visakhapatnam and had rented the car and started from Gachibowli. When the car reached the outskirts of Shadnagar, Lokesh, who was behind the wheel and wearing a seat belt, lost control and the MUV went off the road and hit a large stone.
The car was flung in the air and rolled over several times. Bhaskar and Venkatesh were flung out of the car and died on the spot.
Abhilash was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital where he died in the evening, Shadnagar inspector A. Sreedhar Kumar said.
It was estimated that the car was travelling at a speed of nearly 130 kmph.
