6 RTC staff held for damaging bus

They pelted stones at it breaking its front windscreen towards the driver’s side.

Hyderabad: Six TSRTC employees were arrested on Friday after they pelted stones at a bus and broke its front windscreen.

Police said the RTC bus was travelling from Kodangal to the city on Wednesday when six two-wheeler riders overtook and stopped it near the NTR bus stop.

They pelted stones at it breaking its front windscreen towards the driver’s side. The driver lodged a complaint with the Langar Houz police. Inspector Ch. Srinivas said investigations revealed that the accused were RTC employees who were dismayed with the state government for sacking the striking employees en masse.

Those arrested have been identified as Raghunath Jharkhand, 55, Chennu Sudhakar, 53, Mohammed Alauddin, 53, Amjad Khan, 45, Mahboob Mohammad Khan, 51, and Abdul Hameed, 54. They were remanded to judicial custody on Friday.
