Chennai: Two men died in two separate accidents in the suburbs of the city late on Wednesday night.In the first incident, two men Shaktivel (37), an employee in a private bank and his friend Kiruba Anand (26), were riding towards the Meenambakkam old airport on the GST road at around 10.30 pm, when an unidentified man jaywalked into the road. Kiruba Anand who was riding the bike lost balance and the vehicle skidded, severely injuring him and the jaywalker. But, Shaktivel who was riding pillion died on the spot. Anand and the other man were taken to the Rajiv Gandhi government hospital for treatment. St Thomas Mount traffic investigation police registered a case and are investigating.
In the second incident, Prakash (26), who owned a hairdressing salon in East Tambaram was riding on the Tambaram - Velachery road after closing shop at around 10 pm on Wednesday, when his bike skidded and rammed the median at high speed. Prakash died on the spot, police sources said. A case has been registered by the Chromepet traffic police probe is on.
