Adilabad: Agency areas in old Adilabad district observed a voluntary total bandh on Wednesday.
The call was given by the Thudumdebba to protest against the house arrest of Adilabad MP Soyam Bapurao and derogatory remarks made by the Lambada community against Mr Soyam Bapurao.
The bandh was total in Utnoor, Indravelli, Narnoor, Gadeguda, Kerameri, Sirpur (U), Jainoor, Bheempur, Lingapur, Asifabad, Tiryani mandal headquarters in the old Adilabad district. Businessmen voluntarily closed their establishments.
Rasta rokos and people formed human chains in all the agency areas and in the Adilabad district headquarters.
A team of Thudumdebba leaders Sidam Bheemrao, Godam Ganesh, Purka Bapurao, Arka Kammu, Kodapa Nagesh, Vedma Bojju and others met Karimnagar DIG Pramod Kumar and SP Vishnu S. Warriera and put forth their demands.
