Prajwal gets Karnataka HC notice through newspaper ad

Prajwal had claimed that he had not received any summons from the High Court.

HASSAN: Since, repeated summons to Hassan Lok Sabha member Prajwal R failed to reach him at his given residential address, the High Court of Karnataka served notice to Prajwal (28) son of former minister H.D. Revanna through advertisements in local newspapers of Hassan on Wednesday where the Court has directed the MP to appear before the Court or by his pleader and file his reply in defense on September 30 at 10.30 am.

Meanwhile, Prajwal had claimed that he had not received any summons from the High Court while sources told Deccan Chronicle that Prajwal had reportedly evaded summons from the High Court for third time.

The advertisements published in local dailies of Hassan comes in the wake of reports that Prajwal refused to receive the summons served to him by the High Court and that two petitions were filed by BJP Hassan MP candidate A. Manju and another by advocate Devaraje Gowda after Lok Sabha poll.

Both the petitioners had alleged that Prajwal had erred in furnishing documents about his assets and liabilities’ to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and sought his disqualification as an MP.

In the Lok Sabha poll held in April, 2019, Prajwal, the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) and Congress consensus nominee defeated BJP’s A. Manju by a margin of 1.42 lakh votes and Manju finished second in the table.
