Healthy Telangana is our agenda, says Etala Rajender

WARANGAL: Minister for health Etala Rajender inspected the Mahbubabad and Mulugu government hospitals on Wednesday and reviewed their management, facilities and services provided.

He walked through the wards and interacted with the inmates regarding their stay in the hospital.

Speaking on the occasion, he suggested that the district administrations use the 30 day special plan of action for the development of villages to make villages hygienic and keep seasonal diseases at bay. He said that awareness programs need to be taken up across villages on how villagers can avoid viral fevers by maintaining their surroundings clean.

“In Mahbubabad, the majority population is that of tribals who need to be very careful of their surroundings. Unless they are aware of the benefits of keeping their houses and locality clear of stagnant water and clogged drainages, they are prone to mosquito bites which lead to diseases,” he suggested. Mr Rajender said that officials from panchayat raj and medical and health departments must work together in creating awareness among villagers.

He said that officials must clear all myths and make them aware of the fact that all viral fevers need not be dengue or malaria. The district administrations were asked to arrange temporary additional beds if required to accommodate the increasing number of fever patients.

Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Mahbubabad MP Maloth Kavitha, Mulugu collector C. Narayana Reddy, Mahbubabad collector Ch Shivalingaiah were present among others.
