Supreme Court calls Telangana Education Secretary
Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Monday expressed displeasure at the TS government for not filling up teacher vacancies in government schools.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Mishra directed the TS secretary of school education to appear before it on October 28.
The bench was dealing with a petition by one J.K. Raju seeking to direct the AP and TS governments to take steps for fill up teacher vacancies and provide basic amenities in government schools.
Mr Ashok Gupta, amicus curiae (friend of the court), said the TS government was seeking two months to complete the recruitments.
Mr K Sravan Kumar, counsel for the petitioner, reminded the bench that the court had directed the state government to complete the recruitments by September 11. While directing the secretary to appear before the court, the bench adjourned the matter.
