Enjoy retail therapy at Ameerpet station
Hyderabad: The Ameerpet and Parade Ground interchange stations of Hyderabad Metro Rail, which will get operational from November, would have sub-platform levels with retail spaces, entertainment zones and convenience stores.
The parking area for Ameerpet station will be located at Chalees Makaan, and for the Parade Ground station at the GHMC office. Parking will be developed once the Metro Rail is operational.
A senior Metro Rail official rail said, “We are working on completing the structural work at Ameerpet. The Parade Ground Station is ready and the finishing touches are being given.”
According to officials, the Ameerpet station work must be completed by October 15. Slab work has been completed, but electrical works, the fitting of equipment and the installation of escalators are pending.
The Ameerpet station occupies 19,000 sq. feet, of which 13,000 sq. feet is in the lower level. This will have large retail outlets, entertainment zones and convenience outlets including grocery stores, laundries, florists, gift shops, and mobile and accessories stores.
The concourse level which occupies 4,000 sq. feet will be used by pedestrians to cross over from one lane to another. Entry into this level will not require a ticket.
Convenience stores, ATM machines, offices for the technical staff and other amenities have been planned for this level.
