Video: Vehicles torched, shops attacked in protests against SC's Cauvery verdict
Bengaluru: Protests rocked Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on Monday over the Cauvery issue, despite a Supreme Court order reducing the amount of water to be supplied by the state to Tamil Nadu to 12,000 cusecs.
Pro-Kannada protesters torched vehicles, vandalised shops and created ruckus leading to a virtual shutdown in Bengaluru. Shops and establishments were closed and schools sent students home early. Namma metro in Bengaluru was also shut.

Bus services from Karnataka to Tamil Nadu have been suspended following attacks on travel agency offices and burning of buses in Bengaluru.

Politicians from Karnataka including chief minister Siddaramaiah have appealed to the people to maintain calm, and respect the Supreme Court’s modified order.

Meanwhile, protesters set afire 20 buses at a depot in Bengaluru, headlining violence that has rocked Karnataka on Monday.
