Hyderabad parents tear up government order copies related to functioning of schools

Before the idol immersion in Hussainsagar, parents tore copies of the government order relating to the functioning of schools.

Hyderabad: With no action from the education department to keep a check on private schools that are collecting exorbitant fees, the Hyderabad School Parents Association held the rally from Chandanagar to Tank Bund, carrying banners that read “stop the school fee loot”. They were taking a Ganesh idol for immersion.

The procession wound its way through Miyapur, Kukatpally, HiTec City, Moosapet, Ameerpet, Panjagutta and Khairatabad.

Before the idol immersion in Hussainsagar, parents tore copies of the government order relating to the functioning of schools.

“If the GOs are there only for namesake it’s better to discard them. We tore copies of G.O-246 of 1987, G.O-1 of 1994, G.O-91 of 2009 and G.O-42 of 2010 all relating to functioning of schools,” a parent said.
