SSLC Students can apply for migration certificate online

Students can get their migration certificate online after paying a prescribed fee and by applying it online.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Secondary Education Board (KSEEB) has decided to issue migration certificate online from this year to help students who have passed SSLC exams to study outside Karnataka.

Speaking to this paper, Director of KSEEB V Sumangala said a decision to this effect was taken recently by the Board to help students who prefer and wish to pursue their pre-university education outside Karnataka. She said a circular has been issued to all DDPIs to help sensitize the students to make use of this facility.

It is mandatory for students to submit a migration certificate to get admission for a pre-university course outside Karnataka, as per the norms of the government.

Now, students have to wait for about 10-15 days to get the migration certificate after applying to KSEEB as the process will involve verification of all the records of the applicant.

Earlier, the Department of Public Instruction had been issuing migration certificates to students all these years till 2018 after collecting a prescribed fee along with applications certified from respective heads of schools.

Students can get their migration certificate online after paying a prescribed fee and by applying it online. There is also provision for students to download the application and submit the same offline as well, according to officials from KSEEB.

Students who have passed their SSLC exams this year apply for a certificate through the online process, but students who passed the examination before 2018 must obtain the migration certificate in person.
