TRS MP D Srinivas's son booked under SC-ST act

As per the direction of the High Court, the police have issued a notice under Cr PC 41/A and pasted a copy at the residence of Sanjay.

NIZAMABAD: Nizamabad police registered a case under SC and ST (Prevention of atrocities) Act, 1989, against TRS MP D. Srinivas’s son D. Sanjay, a former mayor. IV Town police had already registered cases under IPC sections 354, 354-A, 506, 509 and 342 on August 3 in sexual harassment complaint lodged by 11 B.Sc (Nursing) students of Shankary college, owned by Mr Sanjay.

After the police case, the former mayor has been absconding even as police teams have intensified searches to trace him. Meantime, a quash petition filed by an advocate on behalf of Sanjay in High Court was also dismissed. As per the direction of the High Court, the police have issued a notice under Cr PC 41/A and pasted a copy at the residence of Sanjay.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Nizamabad Assistant Commissioner of Police and investigating officer of Sanjay's case, said that they had directed the accused to give a reply within two days of the notice. “We will move further as per the direction of High Court and Sanjay should surrender before the police”, he said. On the other hand, the police notice pasted at Sanjay's residence here at Vinayaknagar was removed by unknown persons on Saturday.
