Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday suspended the operation of an order passed by the TS Wakf Board to take educational institutions belonging to Anwar-ul-Uloom Educational Society under the Board’s direct control for six weeks. Justice B. Shiva Sankar Rao, while dealing with petitions moved by the Anwar-ul-Uloom Educational Society and its institutions, passed the interim order.
Counsels appearing for the petitioners told the court that these officials pasted the orders on the walls of the institutions. They contended that the Board failed to follow due procedure under the law to take the institutions in its control by not making any Gazette publication superseding the current management of the Society. They submitted that the educational institutions cannot be put to such a hardship in the beginning of academic year when admissions were in progress.
Counsel appearing for the Board, while opposing the stay of operation of the order, submitted that the institutions of the Society were taken under its control following an order passed by the High Court in another petition. While granting the interim order on the ground of allegations that there were procedural lapses on the part of the Board, the judge directed the respondents to file counter affidavits.
