Water level in Godavari river rises steadily

At present, the water level in the river was recorded at 7.3 ft with a discharge of 5.15 lakh cusecs into the sea.

Rajahmundry: Water level in Godavari river is rising steadily and it is expected to cross the first flood warning level at the Sir Arthur Cotton barrage at Dowleswaram in the early hours of Tuesday.

At present, the water level in the river was recorded at 7.3 ft with a discharge of 5.15 lakh cusecs into the sea.

The water resources authorities have lifted all 175 gates of the barrage to 4.5 meters to let out the water into the sea.

When the water level at the barrage touches 11.75 ft, the authorities will issue the first flood warning level.
