Slain Karnataka DySP's son moves court against Kodagu police
Nehal filed a petition before the court stating that Kushalnagar Rural police had refused to register an FIR after he filed a complaint.

BENGALURU: Slain Deputy Superintendent of Police M. K. Ganapati’s son Nehal has approached a court in Madikeri seeking its direction to the police to register an FIR in connection with a complaint filed by him.
Nehal filed a petition before the court on Monday stating that the Kushalnagar Rural police had refused to register an FIR after he filed a complaint.
“Defending that a case has already been filed and is being investigated by the CID, the police refused to register an FIR. Thus, the court should direct the police to register an FIR based on my complaint,” he said in his petition. Admitting the petition, the judge adjourned the hearing.
Foul play?
Meanwhile, Mr. Ganapati’s youngest brother M.K. Machaiah alleged that he suspected foul play in his brother’s death. “There are various issues that should investigated. Why would a person open two rounds of fire before committing suicide by hanging? Also, the room in which he was staying was not safe as the windows were so wide enough for a person to enter. And Ganapati and I have grown together and he was not a person who would commit suicide. So, only CBI probe can bring out the truth,” he alleged.
