Ministers, MLAs, top cops take part in Telangana Run

Hyderabad: As part of the decennial celebrations of Telangana state formation day, ministers, legislators, elected representatives, and youth took part in the Telangana Run across the state. It brought together health enthusiasts, amateur runners, and the general public from various walks of life, creating a festive atmosphere. The run featured two categories, a 2K and 5K, offering participants varying levels of challenge and engagement. Renowned singers
Mangli and Ram, along with celebrities like shooter Isha Singh and singer Sri Leela, mesmerised participants with their captivating performances.

VIPs like ministers Mohammed Mahmood Ali and V. Srinivas Goud, Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, chief secretary A. Santhi Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and senior police officers joined the run in the city, said police commissioner C.V. Anand in a press release.

The Telangana Run provided a platform for people to come together, celebrate, and reinforce the spirit of unity and the progress achieved over the past decade. As a token of appreciation for their participation and dedication, all the participants were honoured with mementos.

The overwhelming response from the public, especially the younger generation, exemplified their enthusiasm, said Anjani Kumar, the director-general of police.

During the occasion, ministers and MLAs highlighted the remarkable achievements of the Telangana government over the past nine years. They said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's visionary leadership has transformed Telangana within a decade, achieving progress that would typically take a hundred years. They praised the CM for striking a fine balance between development programmes and welfare schemes in urban and rural areas and ensuring inclusivity for all sections of society, positioning him as a role model for the entire nation.

In Nalgonda, Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy stressed on the importance of physical fitness for leading a healthy life. He encouraged people to utilise the open gyms and walking tracks developed in parks across towns and cities. He also highlighted Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's focus on developing government hospitals on par with corporate hospitals.

Further, he mentioned the development of open gyms and walking tracks in all colonies' parks in towns. To promote sports among children and youth, Telangana Kreeda Pranganams (sports arenas) were established in villages and towns.

Rachakonda cops celebrate Telangana Run

Scores of people took part in the 'Telangana Run' organised by the Rachakonda police as part of the Formation Day celebrations. The run commenced from Chengicherla and concluded at Peerzadiguda.

Before the run began, a two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect for the late Mulugu ZP chairman Kusuma Jagadish, who passed away due to a cardiac arrest on Sunday. Kusuma Jagadish was an activist who actively participated in the Telangana movement.

Speaking at the event, Rajya Sabha MP J. Santosh Kumar, the chief guest, remarked, "Telangana is regarded as a shining example of what can be accomplished within a short period with the visionary leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao."

During the event, Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan highlighted the surveillance network implemented by the Rachakonda police, which has instilled fear among criminals and deterred them from committing offenses.

He emphasised the importance of public cooperation and urged the community to report crimes to the police for immediate resolution.
