Imported cases add to Andhra Pradesh covid tally

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has reported 135 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total number of cases to 4,261 on Thursday.

The state health department had reported 136 new cases with total number of cases rising to 4,126 on Wednesday. With the addition of 135 new cases, the total number of cases has gone up to 4,261 in the state.

 

Two Covid-19 patients, one each from East Godavari and Krishna succumbed to the disease taking the death toll to 80.

In addition to the 135 new local coronavirus cases, nine new cases were reported from foreign returnees and 38 new cases among people from other states. With this, the total new cases, including from local persons, foreign returnees and returnees from other states stood at 182.

Out of a total number of 4,261 coronavirus cases, 1,641 are in hospital while 2,540 have been discharged.

In Kadapa district, 18 new Covid-19 cases were reported, taking the total number of cases to 306. Among the new cases, 12 were from Navabupeta, Jammalamadugu mandal, three returnees from Kuwait, two from Proddutur and one from Kamalapuram.

 

In Nellore district, 15 new Covid-19 cases were reported. Of them, five were from Sullurpeta, four from Tada, two from Marripadu and one each from Doravarisathram, Sangam, Nellore Urban, Buchireddypalem, Ramapuram, Nandavaram and Iskapalli. With this, total number of coronavirus infections rose to 370.

In Prakasam district, six new confirmed infections were reported at Chinaganjam, Santharavuru, Kanigiri and Chirala mandals taking the total number of cases to 146.
