Promises to keep Dr G Parameshwar? no potholes in 10 days!
Bengaluru: Finally! A minister who may just be able to translate words into reality. The new Deputy chief minister and Bengaluru development minister G. Parameshwar kicked off what was his first day in office with a quick tour of the IT capital's polluted lakes, and its potholed ridden roads.
At his maiden meeting with the BBMP, BDA and BWSSB officials he made a promise to the citizens of Bengaluru - to fill all 6,000 potholes in the next 10 days!.
Mr. Parameshwar said that about 1,200 potholes that measure one square meter would be tackled on a priority basis, using the pothole filling ‘Python’ machines.
It may be recalled that the quality of the pothole filling in the past had been of sub standard quality. He also promised to blacklist all contractors who worked on TenderSURE roads where drains overflow, and that since "both BBMP and traffic cops are under my control, I will ensure proper co-ordination.”
