Bengaluru: Techie jumps to death from 12th floor
Bengaluru: A 23-year old software professional jumped to his death from the 12th floor of a building at ITPL Park in Whitefield on Monday evening.
Bhavesh Jaiswal, who hailed from Madhya Pradesh, was working as a trainee decision scientist at Mu Sigma, Ascendas SEZ ITPB Area at Aviator Building. The incident occurred around 5 pm.
Abdul Ahad, DCP, Whitefield division, said that Bhavesh’s office was on the 12th floor. "He plunged to his death around 5 pm. Bhavesh, a resident of Indiranagar, was living alone, and came to the city in 2017. His mother stayed with him for a while, before returning to Madhya Pradesh. Police didn't find any suicide note on him," Mr Ahad said.
The initial probe revealed that Bhavesh’s behaviour was normal during the lunch and at work. The incident came to light when security guards heard a loud thud and rushed to see him lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead, the police said.
The probe team is yet to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step. Bhavesh’s phone has been sent to the Forensic Sciences Laboratory to retrieve details of the calls made, messages and mails to check whether he had made any distress calls to anyone before committing suicide. Asked whether he was harassed at workplace, a senior officer said that initial inquiries did not reveal any such incident.
Bhavesh’s family was informed about the incident and they are expected to reach the city by late Monday night or Tuesday morning, the police said.
The jurisdictional police have not registered a case so far as they are waiting for the family of the deceased to arrive.
