Mannargudi: Tension prevailed for almost the entire day on Sunday at Mannargudi in Tiruvarur district following the cancellation of AIADMK (Amma) faction leader, T T V Dhinakaran’s supporters’ public meeting in the town.
According to party sources, police had earlier granted permission for the public meeting slated for Sunday, in support of Dhinakaran, which was to be addressed by functionaries like Nanjil Sampath and film actor Kundu Kalyanam. They had already arrived at Mannargudi, but all of a sudden the police cancelled the permission granted for holding the meeting, on Sunday afternoon.
