JEE (Advanced) results out, Jaipur boy tops
New Delhi: Jaipur boy Aman Bansal has topped the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) for 2016, the results of which were declared on Sunday.
In the highly competitive exam on the basis of which admissions to the prestigious IITs and other top engineering colleges are granted, the second position was grabbed by Bhavesh Dhingra of Yamuna Nagar, while Kunal Goyal, also of Jaipur, stood third.
Over 1,55,948 candidates had registered for the exam and 36,566 qualified, as per the official JEE website. Of these 31,996 are boys and 4,570 are girls. Riya Singh from Kota is the topper among girls with an all-India ranking of 133.
Seats to 23 IITs including the four new ones will be allotted on the basis of this test which was organised by IIT Guwahati this year.
Apart from IITs, admissions on the basis of this exam are granted to other institutes like Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Rae Bareli Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), Visakhapatnam, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram.
