Hyderabad: 1,000 cops to monitor markets for Ramzan

Teams of mufti policemen will also be part of the security arrangements along with SHE teams to curb eve teasing.

Hyderabad: The city police will be deploying around 1,000 policemen across the markets in the city in view of the Ramzan month which is likely to begin from May 16.

Deputy commissioner of police (South) V. Satyanarayana said the policemen from police stations and special units such as the TS Special Police, City Armed Reserve, Central Crime Station and Task Force will deployed to prevent untoward incident.

Teams of mufti policemen will also be part of the security arrangements along with SHE teams to curb eve teasing.

The official said closed circuit cameras have already been installed at the markets. “The footage will be monitored on real time,” he said.

Apart from the Old City market, the police have identified the Musheerabad Bangladesh market, Karwan market, Kishanbagh market, Golconda Bazaar, Hafeezbabanagar market and Vattepally market for posting pickets.
