Hyderabad: The severed body of an unidentified person was found buried in a rented house in Jeedimetla. The house owner who noticed a foul smell alerted the police who found the man’s head, body and limbs in four different parts of a room in the house.

Police has started a hunt for two youths who were not seen for the past three days.

Balanagar DCP Dr Y. Sai Shekar said Mr Mahadev Gupta had rented the house to youths mostly from Bihar who have migrated to work in the industrial area.

On Wednesday, one of the tenants noticed a foul smell coming from one of the portions which was locked for around three days and informed Mr Mahadev.

When the dog squad was put into action, it halted near a shelf on the wall.

“The body was chopped into pieces. The head and the trunk were packed in a gunny bag and hidden behind one shelf and the limbs were buried two feet deep behind another shelf. The spots were neatly covered and plastered,” the DCP said.

Bihar natives Vivek Vidhur Jha and Bhuvan Kumar Jha were staying in portion for the past year. They worked as volunteers for pharma companies by giving blood samples for clinical trials.

According to Mr Gupta, the portion was locked for three days, but he did not suspect any foul play as the youth staying on rent, would go home for vacation for long periods.

Officials found three Aadhaar cards at the scene.
