Telangana SSC sees 86.63 per cent pass
Hyderabad: Government institutions secured mixed results in the TS SSC exams this year. While BC and welfare residential schools, Model schools etc. put up good performances, the situation was the opposite in government schools and aided schools.
The average pass percentage this year is 85.63, with girls securing 86.57 percentage and boys 84.7. Model schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, Telangana State Residen-tial Educational Institu-tions Society, and Telan-gana Residential Educa-tional Institutions Society bettered the state average, with BC Welfare Residen-tial schools securing the highest of 96.84 per cent.
Zilla parishad, Tribal welfare residential educational institutions society and aided schools registered lower than the state average, with government schools securing a lowest of 77.8 per cent.
Among districts, Warangal stood at the top with a pass percentage of 95.13, and Hyderabad was at the bottom with 76.23 per cent. In all, 2,379 schools secured full pass percentage (100 per cent), including 1,461 private schools.
However, 10 schools registered zero per cent pass this year. Eight private institutions, one government school and one aided school figured in the list.
Among the subjects, maths proved a shade tougher with the least pass percentage (88.9), while second language secured the highest at 99.54.
In community-wise pass percentages, BCs (87.17) were on top while SCs were at the bottom with 82.5 pass percentage. Meanwhile, students from the Narayana Group of Schools continued their good results. The pass percentage was more than 98. Out of 10 students, seven secured A-Grade in Maths and Science subjects.
The advanced supplementary exams will be held from June 15 till June 29, with the last date for payment of the fees fixed as May 26. A total of 5.19 lakh candidates appeared for the examinations.
