Silent voting for Adilabad Lok Sabha seat

The average of approximately 71.98 percentage was recorded in the Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency.

ADILABAD: Polling percentage was high in the ST Assembly constituencies and constituencies having tribal areas such as Boath, Khanapur, Asifabad and Adilabad.

In Adilabad 70.27 per cent polling was recorded, 76.21 per cent in Boath, 66.93 in Nirmal, 70.83 in Khanapur, 73.07 in Mudhole, 76.88 in Asifabad and 69.70 per cent in Sirpur (T) Assembly constituencies.

The average of approximately 71.98 percentage was recorded in the Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency.

Meanwhile, silent voting was witnessed, without party leaders requesting the voters to vote for their respective party candidates and without much Hungama.

According to official sources, Adilabad Lok Sabha recorded 66.76 per cent voting by 5 pm on Thursday. But there would be increase in the voting percentage.
In most of the villages, voting was not on the expected lines, unlike in the Assembly elections.

Adivasis, who play a vital role in deciding the victory of the candidates, reached polling booths and cast their votes before noon in many villages in the Tribal areas.

Senior leaders of TRS were not seen near the polling booths, to influence the voters, unlike in the past. For BJP, activists have become campaigners and managed everything required for the contesting candidates.

TRS MLAs were seen unhappy with the voting pattern despite having their MLAs in the seven Assembly constituencies in the LS segment.

TRS leaders were busy analysing the voting pattern and trying to see whether there is any change in the mood of the voters when compared to Assembly elections.

It was quite visible that a considerable number of minorities voted for the Congress this time and the same community voted for TRS in the last Assembly elections.

A senior Congress leader said that people may give a different verdict this time unlike in the past as far as Adilabad LS seat is concerned.
