Namma canteen in 2 months, says Siddaramaiah
Bengaluru: Namma canteen or Indira canteen, which was announced in the state budget, would provide food at subsidized rates in the next two months, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday.
During his address at the birth anniversary celebration of Bengaluru's founder Kempegowda, he said these canteens will be set up in all 198 wards and based on its pros and cons the same will be replicated across the state.
He used the occasion to request the people to use mass transport, which will help ease congestion in the city. He also urged citizens to segregating waste at source.

Hours before the event the Kempegowda awardee list, which initially stood at 150, swelled to 220. The awardees were announced in such a hurry that many winners could not make it to the function on Tuesday evening.
