BENGALURU: The old Mysuru region, where the BJP has failed to make inroads, figures at the top of the agenda of former chief minister B.S.Yeddyurappa as he prepares to take charge as new chief of the state unit of BJP.

At a meeting of party MPs, MLAs and corporators, which he addressed here on Sunday, the leader spoke of how the party ought to increase its influence in Mandya, Hassan, Ramanagara, Kolar and Chikkaballapura
districts.

“I know it is difficult to win seats in these districts, but we must make an effort and rally our party workers to achieve this,” he told the leaders, adding that as these five districts were close to Bengaluru, they could even make day trips to these areas.
