During his inspection at the Govindaraja Swamy temple on Monday, he said that this technology will help prevent thefts in shrines.
It was learnt from a temple official that the police have taken two suspects into custody and are investigating further into the incident.
Tirupati: The jewels of Lord Govindaraja Swamy in Tirupati would be protected with Radio Frequency Identity Device (RFID) security on an experimental basis, said TTD JEO B. Lakshmi Kantham.
During his inspection at the Govindaraja Swamy temple on Monday, he said that this technology will help prevent thefts in shrines. “Sensor chips will be arranged to jewels and if anybody tries to steal them, they will be caught red-handed.” This security is being provided at the temple on the advice of Agama experts and later, it will be extended to other temples.
