Hyderabad: Sandalwood trees stolen by unknown men
Hyderabad: Three sandalwood trees were reportedly stolen from the Greyhounds training centre at Premavathipet under the Rajendranagar police station limits in Cyberabad police commissionerate.
According to sources, the incident took place at the centre, at about 3 am on Sunday. The centre is where the police personnel undergo training to carry out anti-insurgency operations against Maoists and terrorists.
Security officers at the training centre received information in the wee hours that some unidentified persons were cutting the sandalwood trees on the campus. When three personnel reached the spot, they saw two persons cutting the trees. But, before they could nab them, they fled from the scene.
Later, when they checked, it was found that three Sandalwood trees were stolen. Based on a complaint from the Grey Hounds personnel, a case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Forest Act,” said the sources, adding that the police has formed a team to nab the suspects.
