Hyderabad: Biometric glitch hits polytechnic students
Hyderabad: Polytechnic students numbering 21,481 who have been barred from taking their exams due to a glitch in the biometric machines in their colleges, protested in front of the State Board of Technical Education and Training on Monday morning.
The exams are scheduled to begin from March 19.
The students said that due to the glitch the machines could not register their attendance accurately. There are 100 polytechnic government colleges in TS. Students who had 100 per cent attendance were told that they had only 60 per cent, said the All India Democratic Students Organisation.
D. Gangaji a student explained, “The biometric machines are not of good quality.”
The students want the authorities to at least collect a fine and allow them to take the exams.
