Bengaluru: Government lags behind in innovation, says Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Disruptive technologies are changing the game for businesses by creating entirely new products and services.

Bengaluru: “Innovation and disruption have flourished in the private sector, but the government has lagged way behind,” said Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Member of Parliament, addressing the Young Indians (Yi) National Entrepreneurship Summit in the city on Saturday.

The Rajya Sabha MP said that India has all the capabilities to become a great economic powerhouse if the governance is cleaned up and made more transparent. Yi, a part of Confederation of Indian industry (CII), organised its 5th entrepreneurship summit on the theme, ‘Disruption - Challenging Traditions, Transforming World.’

Serial entrepreneur R.K. Misra said disrupted industries suffer from two major challenges: more agile competition and large legacy business models. Because of these two main reasons, according to Misra, organisations have been facing cultural and organisational challenges.

The chairman of Entrepreneurship Summit 2017, Ajith Mathew George said, “Disruptive technologies are changing the game for businesses by creating entirely new products and services,” he said.
