Two TD MLAs were suspended from the Assembly on Saturday for the remainder of the Budget Session.

Hyderabad: Two TD MLAs were suspended from the Assembly on Saturday for the remainder of the Budget Session for interrupting the Governor’s address. The suspension of Mr A. Revanth Reddy and Mr Sandra Venkata Veeraiah united the Opposition; the Congress, BJP, and the CPI walked out after their request to revoke the suspension was rejected. Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary said the interruption to the Governor’s speech on Friday was in violation of Assembly norms.

Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy, Mr G. Kishan Reddy (BJP), Mr Sunnam Rajaiah (CPM) termed as “undemocratic” the manner in which the TD MLAs were suspended. They said the MLAs had remained seated and made some remarks. They recalled TRS MLAs standing on benches, tearing copies of the speech and throwing at Governor and attacking him in the same Assembly in undivided AP.

Later, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the incidents in undivided AP could not be compared with the TS Assembly as it was done in the midst of the demand for statehood.
