Narendra Modi silences 'Modi Modi' chants amid Nitish Kumar's speech

Following Nitish's address, both him and the Prime Minister were seen smiling and talking amicably to each other.

Hajipur: In an attempt to silence a section of the crowd vigorously chanting his name during Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar's address on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen gesturing the masses to calm down and maintain silence.

While Nitish was addressing the inauguration function of the newly constructed Digha-Sonepur rail-cum-road bridge in Hajipur, the Prime Minister got up from his seat and walked towards the end of the dais, gesturing the crowd chanting "Modi Modi" with his hand to maintain silence.

Following Nitish's address, both him and the Prime Minister were seen smiling and talking amicably to each other.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Patna on Saturday on a day-long visit to Bihar where he will dedicate to the nation the newly constructed Digha-Sonepur rail-cum-road bridge and inaugurate a new rail bridge in Munger.

The Prime Minister also kick-started the operation of the goods trains on the newly constructed rail portion of Munger Rail-Cum Road Bridge from Sahebpur Kamal end in Begusarai district.

He will also lay the foundation stone of the additional rail bridge near existing Rajendra Bridge in Mokama over the river Ganga.
