Student misses IELTS test as posts delays his passport

He took to Twitter to complain that he had even checked at the local post office but there was no response.

Hyderabad: A student from Nalgonda, Mr Varun Kumar, has alleged that he could not write his IELTS exam on February 7 and February 9 in Chennai as the passport, which is necessary for the purpose, was not delivered by the postal department.

Mr Kumar had gone to Chennai to write the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam for non-native English speakers in Chennai, but had forgotten to carry his passport. His father sent the passport through registered post but he did not receive it in time.

He took to Twitter to complain that he had even checked at the local post office but there was no response. Mr Kumar said his complaint (No. 10009127058) had not got any response either.

He demanded that the postal department reimburse him the travel chages and the International English Language Testing System fee of Rs 12,500.

There was mo response from the postal department to Mr Kumar’s complaint till late in the evening on Monday.
