Kerala Literature Festival 2018 bows out

Besides writers from Spain, Latvia and Australia presented their work and discussed the idea of European' literature.

KOZHIKODE: Transport minister A.K. Saseendran inaugurated the closing ceremony of Kerala Literature Festival on the beach here on Sunday. “The festival has created a wave here with the arrival of nationally and internationally acclaimed writers and thought leaders,” said M.K. Raghavan, MP. “The government will take the initiative to take over the next edition and make it a much better event." Over 500 speakers from 15 countries attended over 200 sessions to celebrate literature over four days. It provided an open platform for dialogue, dissent and discussion.

It also turned out to be a space for Malayalam writers of three generations to meet and debate issues and evaluate recent transformations. KLF showcased Irish literature, with seven writers of various genres from Ireland including Gabriel Rosenstock, Conor Kostick, Liam Carson and Paddy Bush, reading, talking and discussing their writings in the specific cultural context. Besides writers from Spain, Latvia and Australia presented their work and discussed the idea of ‘European’ literature.
