KIA metro interchange by April

Nearly 87 per cent of the construction has been done at Kempegowda Interchange station.

Bengaluru: Namma Metro's Interchange point Kempegowda Station (Majestic) is inching closer to completion and is expected to be ready by April, as per BMRCL's February newsletter.

“Nearly 87 per cent of the construction has been done at Kempegowda Interchange station. South Road and footpath restoration is in progress, along with subway connectivity," it stated.

This Key link is crucial to Phase-1, East West and North South Corridor and currently commuters use only one of the entrances. The underground station covers an area of 31,532 squae metres, with three levels - Concourse, North South platform and East West platform levels.

Once it is ready, it will ensure connectivity of following phases as well, the newsletter stated. The station will have 25 escalators, for elevators, 12 public staircases and 18 emergency staircases, it added.
