Union Power Minister Highlights Centre's Schemes at Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

Union power minister R.K. Singh criticised the Congress for taking a stand against the construction of the Ram temple at Ayodhya

Hyderabad: Union power minister R.K. Singh said that the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra narrated the success story of the schemes introduced by the Centre, and was meant to enroll those who were not able to access the schemes so far. He said ‘Modi Guarantee Vans’ would reach everyone under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

Singh was participating in a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra held at Bima Maidan, Vambay Colony, near NTR stadium here. He distributed PM Mudra loans cheques to beneficiaries.

On other issues, Singh criticised the Congress for taking a stand against the construction of the Ram temple at Ayodhya and expressed his dissatisfaction over the BRS government not issuing the Central government's Ayushman Bharat health insurance cards to the people.

Singh said that the Centre had started the Mudra scheme to provide financial assistance for smallscale businesspersons. The Modi government had made it easy to give loans to small businesses without collecting any collateral. Street traders were getting loans through PM Swanidhi, Singh said.

Listing out other welfare measures, he said the Modi government had for five years been giving five kg of rice every month for 80 crore people. Subsidised cooking gas was being provided through the PM Ujjwala Yojana, and the poor were getting up to Rs 5 lakh medical insurance under Ayushman Bharat.

Those who attended the programme complained about the non-issue of Ayushman Bharat smart insurance cards to them during the BRS government. At this, Singh directed officials to send him a report on why scheme was not accessible.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the eligible poor will get a home. The Centre was trying to fulfill the dream of owning a home for those who have not been given a unit by the Telangana state government due to various reasons.

Singh said he had spoken to Union housing minister Hardeep Puri regarding the repairs of the houses in Vambay Colony, and would ensure that the repairs are completed soon.

Before the programme, Singh unveiled IEC (information, education, communication) material with regard to Central government schemes. He later visited the stalls of various departments set up at the venue.
