Chief secy orders to start six new courses in Telangana Tribal University

Mr Joshi said 30 per cent supernumerary seats should be allotted to local tribal youth.

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi on Friday instructed officials to start six courses through the Telangana Tribal University (TTU) from July. Each course should have 30 students, he said.

Mr Joshi said the classes should be held at the Jukaram Youth Training Centre in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. He directed the University of Hyderabad officials to take up construction of temporary structures at the venue.

Mr Joshi said 30 per cent supernumerary seats should be allotted to local tribal youth. Classes should be started in BA (Hotel Management), BCA, MCA, MBA (Marketing, Packaging with special reference to forest produce), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Masters in Tribal Culture Folklore.

Mr Joshi was speaking at a meeting held with officials of the University of Hyderabad, tribal, forests and education departments regarding setting up the Tribal University. He directed the engineering wing of the tribal welfare department to construct the compound wall and asked the department to give Rs 10 crore to the Jayashankar Bhupalpally collector to acquire land for the university.
