Chennai ranked safest metro for women: Tamil Nadu CM

It all started with Stalin alleging that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated.

CHENNAI: Chennai is the safest metro for women and Tamil Nadu records 40 per cent less crime against women when compared to national figures complied from other states, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami said while responding to DMK leader M. K. Stalin on Thursday.

The Chief Minister also reiterated that the two police stations RS Puram and Anna Nagar have emerged as one of best police stations in the country under the smart city category contest by Centre.

It all started with Stalin alleging that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated.

He also charged the state with failing to get adequate funds from the Centre to handle the recent natural disasters ranging from floods, cyclone Vardah and Ockhi. “The state government has thanked the Centre so many times in the Governor address, but the state is unable to get adequate funds from the Centre during the recent natural disasters”, M. K. Stalin said.

Revenue minister RB Udayakumar defended that the state had got adequate funds from the Centre during natural disasters.
