Bengaluru mayor unhappy with pace of TenderSure projects

Padmavathi directed the officials and contractors to shift all electric cables under the footpath.

BENGALURU: Mayor G. Padmavathi, who went on rounds to inspect the progress of works taken up under the TenderSure, was upset with the pace at which the works are progressing.

On Wednesday, she inspected ongoing works estimated at a cost of Rs 10.5 crore on Modi Hospital Road, Basaveshwara Nagar. She directed officials and contractors to speed up the works on Modi Hospital Road and complete them by the next month-end.

She said, “We have been receiving repeated complaints from the residents on the problems being faced by them because of the delay in completing these works. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is keen on TenderSure projects and wants them completed soon. Works will speed up once the water pipelines and Optical Fiber Cables are laid."

Residents who met the Mayor during the inspection on stretch connecting Kurubarahalli and West of Chord Road demanded that arrangements be made for footpaths and parking bays on both sides of the road.

Ms Padmavathi directed the officials and contractors to shift all electric cables under the footpath.

She also inspected the works of an underpass near KHB Colony. She lambasted the officials for delaying the project and directed then to complete it and open it for public by March.
